My uncle once told me something which I think we should all
\nkeep in mind right now:<\/p>\n
‘The value of any object is the replacement cost.’<\/p>\n
This week I read that some 12 airlines have folded during the
\nlast year.<\/p>\n
While the funniest headline I read was:
\nBankers apologise for being Bankers.<\/p>\n
If you know Cockney Rhyming slang,
\nthen you will know that it is not a complement to call anyone a
\nbanker.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile the politicians worry about how to inject more
\ncash in to the economy,
\n& how to increase the willingness of banks to lend money.<\/p>\n
Now wasn’t it the over lending of money that caused the
\npresent economic crisis in the first place,
\nor did I miss something else along the way?<\/p>\n
Yet whatever the cause of the present situation might be,
\nit is towards some sort of a Keynesian economic solution that
\nthe politicians are looking at right now.<\/p>\n
This is all very well and fine to do,
\nbut bolstering up various industries without looking at their
\necological worth is going to cause yet more problems in the
\nlong run.<\/p>\n
In other words:<\/p>\n
– We don’t need to put money in to the automotive or aerospace
\nindustries,
\nbut in to those companies which make trains or push bikes.<\/p>\n
– We don’t need to put money into the production of energy
\nwhich involved the burning of coal,
\nor the nukiller power industry.<\/p>\n
– We should be putting money in to the production of wind
\nturbines, increased home insulation projects, etc.<\/p>\n
All of which will both save money, bolster the economy, & help
\ncombat global warming and planetary pollution.<\/p>\n
I’ll keep banging on about these very same points time & time &
\ntime again, or just as long it takes for this very simple message
\nis understood.<\/p>\n
We need to look at the longer term set of problems,
\nrather than just worry about what a short term solution
\nmight be.<\/p>\n
Though one should never forget that most politicians are just
