Walk into any public library of late and you might of noticed
\njust which books are coming off the shelves the fastest rate.<\/p>\n
These are:
\n-career guides,
\n– books upon how to write a good curriculum vitae,
\n&
\n– Upon just how one would work for oneself.<\/p>\n
These are the new best sellers.<\/p>\n
What I am also noticing is that there are a lot more people
\nasking about vacancies within libraries, or for newspapers
\nand periodicals in which jobs are advertised.<\/p>\n
All this is just a reflection of just how high the level of
\nunemployment has become.<\/p>\n
Many of the new unemployed are not inarticulate,
\nbut highly skilled, and highly educated individuals.<\/p>\n
Yet almost all of the help which is available to the
\nunemployed still makes the presumption that they all have low
\nskill level, or that all they need is a little retraining in order
\nto find some employment.<\/p>\n
On the other hand:
\nthere are increasing news reports about increases in the
\nlevel of unemployment, and a major drop in the number of new
\njob vacancies.<\/p>\n
There are now just too few job vacancies, and this is going to
\nhave yet another effect upon the level of unemployment.<\/p>\n
What we shall soon be seeing is a decline in the number of
\nemployment agencies.<\/p>\n
Some of these companies will just go bust, some of them will
\nstart to merge with each other, and others will just close
\nsome of their smaller offices.<\/p>\n
What ever else happens within the next couple of years:
\nthe dole offices are just not going to really be able to find
\nany work for most of the newly unemployed.<\/p>\n
Well if the jobs are just not around, and there is no really
\npractical help for many of the newly unemployed, then
\nsomething else is going to start to take place.<\/p>\n
We may be seeing the start of a new wave of people thinking
\nupon new forms of employment, or new kinds of economic
\nactivity.<\/p>\n
In the meanwhile: –
\nThere is the job of getting more books to help the unemployed
