Each country has songs which celebrate its capital city.<\/p>\n
Each national newspaper focuses upon its national news.<\/p>\n
That is not to say that some national newspapers with a
\ngood global just can’t be found. It’s just that most of them
\nare very expensive to purchase, & one needs to read a lot
\nof them in order to achieve a very comprehensive & well
\nbalanced world view.<\/p>\n

There are also some really good newspapers which have a
\nvery good international focus.<\/p>\n
For example: the Financial Times & the Economist.<\/p>\n
I get most of my news by listening to the Today Program on
\nBBC Radio 4 each morning.<\/p>\n
I also read a wide range of webpages, and keep up to date
\nwith things via the various email lists which I am a part of.<\/p>\n
Then there are the various specialist periodicals which I
\nread from time to time, & those free newspapers which are
\ndistributed on the streets.<\/p>\n
Yet I still have to go looking to find out what is going on in
\nthe world.<\/p>\n
Upon picking up a newspaper I normally look for the
\nCartoons, obituaries, & financial pages,
\nbut not necessarily in that order.<\/p>\n
One of the most useful indicators as to what is going on in
\nthe world comes in the form of the financial indicators.<\/p>\n
Market, commodity, currency, & share prices can tell one
\na lot about what is going on in the world at any one time.<\/p>\n
For example:
\nJust look at the share price of the UK mortgage lenders
\nBradford & Bingley, or the estate agency Savills, & you
\nsee just what I mean.<\/p>\n
Or Better still:
\nLook at the futures market for all food crops.<\/p>\n
There are some interesting things happening to the world
\neconomy right now, & they are going to have a profound
