{"id":270,"date":"2010-06-04T06:16:44","date_gmt":"2010-06-04T06:16:44","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theproject.me.uk\/?p=270"},"modified":"2010-06-04T06:16:44","modified_gmt":"2010-06-04T06:16:44","slug":"investing-in-energy-investing-in-the-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.theproject.me.uk\/?p=270","title":{"rendered":"Investing In Energy &#8211; Investing In The Future."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been doing a lot of thinking of late about the many<br \/>\narguments against nukiller power,<br \/>\nand just how they need to be presented to people.<\/p>\n<p>Of course the most persuasive argument against nukes is that<br \/>\nof a radioactive future,<br \/>\nand just how much nukiller power equates to the building of<br \/>\nnukiller weapons.<\/p>\n<p>Yet there are a couple of other arguments which do need to be<br \/>\nstated.<\/p>\n<p>For example:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Nukiller power is very far from being carbon neutral.<br \/>\nThis being a result of the way that uranium is mined, processed,<br \/>\nand transported.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Nukiller power can never provide any country fuel security.<br \/>\nIt can only continue as part of global industry.<\/p>\n<p>&amp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; That there is no economic justification for building nukes.<br \/>\nInvesting in nukes means taking a lot of long term economic<br \/>\nrisks, which both governments and the insurance industry are<br \/>\nstarting to become very concerned about.<\/p>\n<p>While the economic investment returns upon building wind<br \/>\nturbines are much greater.<\/p>\n<p>Ditto from making fiscal savings from home insulation,<br \/>\nand energy saving technologies.<\/p>\n<p>While I\u2019ll be helping to encourage more Nonviolent direct<br \/>\naction against ( NVDA ) nukiller power over the next few<br \/>\nyears,<br \/>\nI\u2019ll also be showing to potential investors that there is a lot<br \/>\nmore money to be made &amp; saved by investing in the alternatives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been doing a lot of thinking of late about the many arguments against nukiller power, and just how they need to be presented to people.
