Anyone who looks at a lot of movies will be familiar with
\nthe ‘parental’ warnings which come with them in terms of
\ntheir content –
\ni.e. showing scenes of a sexual or violent nature.<\/p>\n
Yet they might be better marked with warnings about some
\nof other things which upset us all.<\/p>\n
As a vegetarian I would like movies to have a warning upon
\nthem if they show animals being killed, or people eating
\nmeat.<\/p>\n
As an atheist I would like to protect children from all
\nreligious propaganda, so that a film like
\n‘ The Ten Commandments’\u00a0 might come with the following: –<\/p>\n
Warning! This film contains scenes of a religious nature.<\/p>\n
I can’t see this happening in a hurry, but that’s no reason to give up on the issue.<\/p>\n
What might be more achievable in the short term is a listing
\nof all product placements within all new films.<\/p>\n
Given that many of the products which are placed within
\nmovies are ones which raise health concerns, particularly
\nin relationship to junk goods , then this would be a real
\npublic service.<\/p>\n
So here is what we need to know.<\/p>\n
Which products or services have been placed in each movie?<\/p>\n
How many times have they each been show, & for how long
\nwithin the movie?<\/p>\n
&<\/p>\n
Have any of the performers mentioned these products
\nwithin the move?<\/p>\n
In the meanwhile I’ll just keep looking out to see how many
