It is not a normal publishing practice to review a book some 60
\nyears after it came out, but in this one case these are very good
\nreasons to do so.<\/p>\n
Death pays a Dividend is an account of the arms trade, & the
\nvarious companies which still are involved in the trade.<\/p>\n
Companies which are still very well know by any of todays
\nanti arms trade campaigners.<\/p>\n
Companies like:
\nVickers.
\nDupont.
\n&
\nICI.<\/p>\n
Starting with the US, German, & British companies which
\nsupplied all these countries armies during World War one, the
\nbook goes on to show that even while in the middle of this
\nconflict, that an International arms cartel was in
\noperation.<\/p>\n
It was British made shells which fell upon British Troops in
\nGallipoli, While after the armistice Vickers had to pay for the
\nKrupp-patented rights on the 123,000,000 fuses which were
\nused against the German armies.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
British manufactuers also supplied the Nazi dictatorship.<\/p>\n
While raw Materials from the USA, the French, British, &
\nDutch Empires, were sold on in order to built up the Imperial
\nJapanese War effort.<\/p>\n
Of course this sad story did not end there, as these same arms
\ntraders actively succeed in blocking the various arms trade
\nnegotiations which were undertaken during the 1930s.<\/p>\n
Even that great figure of appeasement Neville Chamberlain
\nheld shares in ICI, who?s subsidiary company ICI (Metals) Ltd
\n?manufactured most of the munitions for Japan during 1932.?
\nThus with facts such as the ones mentioned above, and a lot of
\nother similar ones, its importance as an activist reference
\nwork can not be understated.<\/p>\n
One might not be able to pick up this work in hurry, but there
\nare still a lot of old copies to be found,
