{"id":949,"date":"2019-07-16T08:25:49","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T07:25:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theproject.me.uk\/?p=949"},"modified":"2019-07-16T08:26:45","modified_gmt":"2019-07-16T07:26:45","slug":"landing-homes-for-the-future","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.theproject.me.uk\/?p=949","title":{"rendered":"Landing Homes For The Future"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>Yesterday [ july 15th 2019 ] there was a feature in the Financial Times about the current state of Britain\u2019s care homes. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>There are now just 8% of them left in public ownership.\u00a0 Thank you Mrs Thatcher ! <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>While 4 of the largest ones are up for sale. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>The problem is financial. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>The FT stated: &#8216; Care homes run up debts of \u00a340,000 a bed&#8217;. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>Is it any wonder that care homes are priced out of reach for most people. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>Meanwhile the push to build new environmentally unaffordable homes in the suburbs grows, There are however a lot of cheap student flats being built. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>Yet the real need to build affordable mixed age housing is the cities is just being ignored. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>Ditto &#8211; The need to use waste land in the inner cities to grow small fruit orchards, create lots of small allotments, or build community greenhouses is just not on most peoples agendas. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: Cambria, serif;\"><b>It will all need to be worked on very soon, or else we really will be in a lot of trouble. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday [ july 15th 2019 ] there was a feature in the Financial Times about the current state of Britain\u2019s care homes.
