{"id":973,"date":"2019-08-17T09:46:51","date_gmt":"2019-08-17T08:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.theproject.me.uk\/?p=973"},"modified":"2019-08-17T09:53:00","modified_gmt":"2019-08-17T08:53:00","slug":"appeasement-the-militarist-plot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.theproject.me.uk\/?p=973","title":{"rendered":"Appeasement &#8211; The Militarist Plot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>On September 3rd it will be 80 years since the British government declared war against Germany, in what became the Second World War. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>No doubt there will be a lot of media attention about this anniversary. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>As ever many militarist will repeat the lie that it was pacifists which promoted appeasement. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>What is forgotten is that it was a UK government policy which was put it in place &#8211; so that the country could rearm. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>In point of fact the British Foreign Office promoted this as they believed the country could not simultaneously fight a war in both Europe &amp; Asia. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>Though they would also of seen this as being: &#8216; For the defence of the Empire.&#8217;<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>There were other reasons for appeasement too. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>&#8211; Such as how the Rabid Right Wing viewed Fascism as a protection against Communism. <\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: DejaVu Sans, sans-serif;\"><b>Keep all of these facts in mind come September.<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On September 3rd it will be 80 years since the British government declared war against Germany, in what became the Second World War.
